Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Live

Photos & Words by Zachary Belfer

On Saturday December 1st Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds brought their gold tour to Irving Plaza In NYC. Supported by Rad Trads and The U.S. Americans a rainy Saturday evening was full of great music.

A sister sparrow show is very much a family affair. The relaxed feel of Jackson Kincheloe’s Harmonica blends perfectly with the amazing voice of his younger sister Arleigh. This bands big American band sound smashes together Rock n Roll, funk, and a lot of soul. Making this return to their home turf really special and relaxed.

Arleigh goes by The stage persona of Sister Sparrow, she portrays this loose, relaxed, almost Joking character on stage which comes off strange to and average music fan, but when she begins to sing it all comes together and you have no choice but to be mesmerized by this fiery red heads stage presence. Her voice soared to top form on “Sugar”.

Catch this band as they have a handful of dates left this year in support of their new album “Gold”. Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds are not to be missed and poised for an amazing 2019 full of great music.
